Repeat the Tuesday treat

This is super. 'Stay The Same' is from french duo The Shoes-featuring Esser. These guys are getting a fair amount of hype and are responsible for some ace electro club-banging remixes.

Their live show at Paris Fashion Week for Jean-Charles De Castelbajac S/S 2011 ignited the catwalk. Check out their remixography on their myspace.

“H&M going luxury”, Lanvin style

Karl Lagerfeld, Sonia Rykiel, and Stella McCartney- Swedish retailing giant’s designer collaboration repertoire is a force to be reckoned with.

Now H&M can add Lanvin to their impressive wad of accolades.

Designed by the label's artistic director Alber Elbaz, and head of menswear Lucas Ossendrijver, the new line will arrive in UK stores and online on November 23.

Gee, how crumpling exciting- preview from the Lanvin for H&M collection, shot by David Sims.
Brimming with Lanvin drama, the one-shouldered cinched puff dresses, ruffled LBDs, textured trenches, and classic tuxedo jackets are precisely what you would anticipate from the designer.

Praising his diffused dream collection he created for a wider audience, Elbaz said it is “not just a dress for less”.

"I have said in the past that I would never do a mass-market collection, but what intrigued me was the idea of H&M going luxury rather than Lanvin going public.

“This has been an exceptional exercise as we share the same philosophy of bringing joy and beauty to men and women around the world."

The prolific collection comprises 30 pieces and 15 accessories for women, and 25 pieces and 10 accessories for men.

If, like me, you cannot contain your need to suss out which staple dress, skirt and top you will stretch your overdraft for, then fret not, the new range is unveiled on November 2 through a special film.

A lot of wow

After a few months blogging, I thought I'd divulge the source of my fashion inspiration- my girl crush, Miss Alison Mosshart.

After laying eyes on her a few years back at Benicassim, her consistently cutting-edge demeanour has resonated with me.

The raven-haired acute beauty has been seemingly quiet recently, deduced from my draught in inspirational fashion fixes.

So, if you've been living in a cave and have been unfortunate enough not to of been introduced to her, enjoy...

Thespian fashion

Attending a Karl Lagerfield catwalk must be akin to witnessing an extravagent Oscar-winning film set.

Chanel kicked off the penultimate day of Paris Fashion Week with a monochrome fantasy garden setting at the Grand Palais.

The classic setting was adorned with fountains and a white gravel underfoot, accompanied with their own orchestra.

The A/W '10 collection was dominated by monochrome, juxtaposed with powder pink, meringue lemon and crisp peach.

Black feathers and chunky bejewelled bangles were commonly used as decorative accessories.

The show heavily featured its trademark tweed trickery, with a model's toddler donning probably the smallest and cutest Chanel tweed suit ever crafted.

Sheer black evening dresses completed with feathers also paraded the theatrical stage, while some ragged and some immaculate pastel tweed suits were displayed as staple day wear.

hurry up Christmas

I spent this weekend trawling through Sheffield's Medowhall with my boyfriend to find the perfect wedding shoes for the aforementioned wedding happening this weekend. Predictably I did my usual 'end up purchasing shoes seen in first shop' move and did not find the perfect pair, but a pair that would suffice given the little time I had left. They are black velvet Mary Jane's, cross strapped and with a patent heel.

Much much more beautiful however were a perfect pair of thick-heeled, twist buckle-strapped, dirty-looking grey Stellar shoes. Regrettably the 10cm heel would not have boded well with the the long wedding day and the dress but we bonded. And so not to lose these heavenly shoes forever in the labyrinth that is my poor memory, they were instantaneously logged into my word documented Christmas list that I definitely did not create in August.

a spoonful of dowdy repellent

I stumbled across this One Teaspoon lookbook whilst pretending to do BBC research for an essay. The clothes are unbearably awesome and totally wearable. The delicate framing and attention to back detail is so really, truly and incredibly wonderful too. I'm pretty sure Sheffield's vintage store Cow stock those perfect polka dot culottes. These images also prompt contemplation of unabashedly taking the scissors to my much-outdated denim shirt-hmmm...
